Howard Walker Burns '28, of Dorchester, regular center-fielder on the University nine for the past two seasons, was elected captain of next year's baseball team following the victory over Yale on Soldiers Field yesterday.

Burns received his prelimianry training for Harvard at Exeter, where he played quarterback on the football team, center field on the baseball team, and took part as a sprinter in the indoor track meets.

Last year he broke into the Harvard outfield, and covered center field in nearly all of the games. This year he has taken part in all of the 31 games played by the nine. His batting average was .269 and his fielding figures stood at .944.
