Yale has recently established a department for personnel study, as a result of a gift of $300,000 to the University.
The new department will, be divided into two sections, it has been announced. The first will be a bureau of appointments carried on in large measure as it is now constituted. The second division will be devoted to assisting in the orientation of Freshmen in the choice of their upper school, discussing with students the election of courses and a career, and collecting data to aid the Board of Admission in solving problems related to the method of selecting students and in general assembling information that will be helpful in vocational guidance and in the placement of Seniors.
This new department will begin operations at Yale next fall.
