UNIVERSITY GOLFERS SHOW FINE FORM IN DOWNING M. I. T.

Playing First Match of Season, Links Team Wins 5-1

The University golf team won the first match of its season yesterday from M. I. T. by a score of 5-1. In every match but one the Crimson golfers showed unquestionable supremacy.

Joseph Morrill Jr. '28 started the afternoon by defeating Newhall, 2 and 1. J. A. Hutchinson '28 then overwhelmed Moore 5 and 4. Playing the best ball Morrill and Hutchinson beat Newhall and Moore, 3 and 1. In the second part of the afternoon's play E. D. Cole '27, was beaten on the nineteenth hole by E. Yates and J. W. Hutchinson '29 downed J. Yates 8 and 7. Playing together, Cole and Hutchinson beat their engineer opponents, 4 and 2.
