SOPHOMORES DOWN 1930 IN ELEVEN INNING TILT

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Harvard Freshman nine went down to a 5 to 4 eleven inning defeat at the hands of the Milton Academy ballplayers yesterday afternoon. In the class series, the Sophomores downed the Juniors to put the class of 1929 in the running for league honors.

In the Freshman tilt, the score was knotted at three-all in the ninth inning. The tenth frame went scoreless, but in the eleventh, the first year men went out to end the game.

Summers singled, stole second, and scored on Carver's bingle, making the count 4 to 3, in favor of the Freshmen. The schoolboys, however, in their half of the inning, hit, stole, and walked to win the 5 to 4 decision.

Sophomores Defeat Juniors

The Sophomores larrupped three Junior pitchers to win 14 to 0 in the class league contest yesterday.

The Sophomores have railled to raise their standing from the bottom of the class league to a position where they are serious contenders for the interclass tie.

They defeated the Seniors Tuesday, and if they come through today's tilt with the Juniors successfully, they will lead the league. The standing among the three teams at present is Juniors 666, Sophomores .500, Seniors .333.

Stanley pitched for the winners of yesterday's encounter and allowed only four hits, three of which were scratchy infield singles.
