Harvard again came in for its share of good natured sarcasm when many seniors answered the question: "What has 1927 done for Princeton?" by saying, "dropped Harvard."
At the banquet which was the first time since their sophomore year that the entire class has gathered together at a meal in the same room, the one in which they are during their first two years at college, the results of the senior voting on, their fellows were read by Joseph Bryan, who was himself voted the most entertaining and the wittiest by large majorities.
An almost unanimous choice made Jacob Slagle the best all-round athlete in the class, and Joseph Prendergast the best all-round man, the most respected, the most popular and the biggest politician.
Phi Beta Kappa keys were favored over varsity letters as the most cherished possession to be obtained in college, and 224 seniors voted The Daily Prince tonian as the most respected extra-curriculum activity.
Dartmouth and Williams followed Yale as the most popular men's college after Princeton. Yale polled 365 votes and Dartmouth came second with 34. Norma Shearer won a close race from Greta Garbo as the most popular feminine star in the film firmament. Adolph Menjou's margin of popularity over Dougias Fanbanks was 101 to 50 however.
Voting on favorite persons and things the class of 1927 selected Roper as their favorite coach and football as the most enjoyable sport to watch, while preferring to play tennis. "Tom Jones" was decided the best novel, and, "The Big Parade" headed the list of favorite movies. Bridge is the choice amusement among the seniors at Princeton, and when not playing it they read "The Saturday Evening Post".
The average age of the Princeton class of 1927 at graduation will be 22 years, three months and seven days. The seniors voted sophomore year the hardest and senior year the pleasantest, and 268 members of the class of nearly 400 have never flunked a course at Princeton.
