The University lacrosse team will open its season's activities this afternoon at 3 o'clock when it plays an alumni team. Although the game is an informal encounter it is important inasmuch as it will reveal the team's potential strength. All the men who will play today are experienced and played at some time last season. However, the squad has not reached the peak of its form as yet and will work hard next week in preparation for its southern trip, on which it will play four games, going as far south as Washington.

In the last few years football men have been going out for lacrosse in large numbers. This is especially true of backfield men and at present Ernest Gamache '27, and Madison Sayles '27, both University football stars last fall, as well as others are on the stickmen's squad.

The Freshmen have been scrimmaging regularly and they plan to elect their captain soon after the spring vacation. As yet they have only one game on their schedule, that with Yale, but Manager A. F. Hanna '27 is hoping to add at least two more contests.

The University team that will start tomorrow is as follows: J. H. Muchick '28, g.; Ernest Gamache '27, pt.; IraMarkwett '28, c.pt.; J. H. Lane '28 f.d.; Madison Sayles '27, s.d.; S. P. Pork '29, t.d.; R. M. Hatch '28, d.; L. M. Shapiro '29, t.a.; J. C. Drier '28, s.a.; Captain M. W. Linn '27, f.a.; C. O. Simpson '27, o.h.; H. J. Wallace '28, i.h.

The second team which will probably play part of the game is as follows: G. N. Weller '29, g.; E. J. Herman '28, p.; William Langford '28, c.p.; W. C. Culver '27, f.d.; Otis Mullinkin '28, s.d.; Herbert Stone '28, t.d.; R. F. Murphy '29, c.; A. M. Hirsch '29, t.d.; C. D. McQuaid '28, c.d.; Crawford North '28, f.d.; J. A. Murphy '29, o.h.; H. A. Ellison '28, i.h
