After a week and a half of practice, University football candidates, weather permitting, will be put through the first real scrimmage of the spring session this afternoon.
For the past ten days Coach Arnold Horween '21 has been running his men through hard workouts, even to the extent, in several instances, of testing plays out in short scrimmages, and he believes his squad to be in good enough condition now to go through a full length fray.
For the rest of the week, beginning tomorrow, competitions will be held to determine the leading players in different departments of the game. The H. A. A. will award medals to winners of the contests in dropkicking and place-kicking from various distances, and to the player averaging the greatest distance in punting.
