The authorized and definitive biography of the late Charles William Eliot '53, President Emeritus of the University, will be begun in the near future by Henry James '99.

Mr. James, an Overseer of the University and a personal friend of the late President, is well known for his literary achievements and particularly for his work in the field of biography. His most famous work was the life and letters of his father, Professor William James. He will be the first biographer to have complete access to the letters and other contents of the files of the late President Eliot.
