Thayer Made Law Professor

Announcement yesterday by the Harvard Law School of the appointment of James Bradley, Thayer, son of the late Ezra Ripley Thayer, as assistant professor of comparative law, brings into the faculty of the Law School the third of a distinguished line of teachers.

Mr. Thayer took his A. B. here in 1921, and then studied at King's College, Cambridge, England. In 1924 he received his L. L. B. and in 1925 his S. J. D. from the Law School. He then began practicing in Boston, but soon became an instructor in the Law School.

The late James Bradley Thayer, grandfather of M. Thayer, was Royall professor of law from 1874 until 1902, and Ezra Ripley Thayer, his father, was third dean of the Law School. Both his father and grandfather have donated their lives to the service of Harvard University, and Mr. Thayer's appointment yesterday cannot but recall their brilliant work.
