The last date on which essays for the Bennett and Sumner Prizes may be handed in is May 2 it was announced yesterday. The subjects of the essays for either of these prizes must be submitted for approval to Professor W. Y. Elliott at 773 Widener Library before Friday April 1.
The Bennett prize is $100, and is offered for the best essay in English prose on some subject of American governmental domestic or foreign policy of contemporaneous interest. The prize, taken from a fund established by the late James Gordon Bennett, is only open to Seniors.
