SPRING FOOTBALL PRACTICE WILL BEGIN NEXT MONDAY

Spring football practice, previously slated to start on April 25, will begin on Monday, March 28, the H. A. A. announced last night.

Head Coach Arnold Horween '21 will come from Chicago to be present at the opening day of practice. He will have a staff of six coaches to assist him. His staff of six assistant coaches will be composed of E. L. Casey '20, Freshman coach of last fall, V. P. Kennard '09, Walter Cleary '15, J. L. Donovan '24, J. L. Knox '98, and Frank Shaughnessy, of McGill University.

The appointment of Shaughnessy who is the leading Rugby football coach in Canada is especially significant in view of the forecasted development of American football into a more open style of game not dissimilar to Rugby on account of the recent ruling making incomplete lateral and backward passes dead.

C. D. Coady '27, captain of the University football team last fall, and other players on his team who are graduating this June will also help Coach Horween open his 1927 campaign.
