BIERWIRTH'S CONDITION DECLARED NOT SERIOUS

Henry Conrad Bierwirth '84, Emeritus Professor of German, who was struck by a motor car while crossing Harvard Square Saturday evening, is resting comfortably in the Cambridge Hospital.

Professor Bierwirth, who is 63 years of age, suffers from a fractured hip, and will be confined in the hospital for from two to three months. His condition is not serious.

The car which struck Professor Bierwirth was being operated by Miss Janice B. Snyder, 18, of 9 Academy Street, Arlington. According to a report to the police, he stepped suddenly from behind another car into the path of Miss Snyder's. Professor Bierwirth was placed in Miss Snyder's car and rushed immediately to the Cambridge Hospital.
