The New Fogg Museum received its christening yesterday when Fine Arts 1d was held in the recently completed lecture room.
The lecture hall is located below the street level. Upon entering, the student is dazzled by a magnificence unfamiliar to habitures of Sever and Harvard Halls. The room has the general design of a motion picture theatre, with sloping tiers of seats, each one equipped with a new device for supporting notebooks, and for ventilating the immediate neighborhood.
The floor is equipped with soundless cork tiles. Other features are the chandeliers which have parchment shades, and the paintings set in the front of the room at the left. A blank, white wall at the back of the lecture stage is used for the screen.
