INTERNATIONAL GROUP DISCUSSES ESPERANTO

Meeting in Phillips Brooks House to Deside on Its Use--Thirty--Three Nations Represented

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The International Council will meet tonight at 8 o'clock in Phillips Brooks House. The subject will be "Shall the Council endorse the use of Esperanto as an International Language?" Favoring the adoption of Esperanto it is to be said that an international language would be of great value, removing the present waste of time, money and effort in learning many languages. One universal language could be made to serve in place of the many tongues now spoken.

The party disapproving the adoption of Esperanto will bring out that the world has been perfectly well off without this artificial language, for many centuries. Also, that Esperanto would split up into dialects and finally different languages just as Latin did.

The Chairman of the Council is Alger Hess 21, Thirty-three countries, including the United States, France, England, Germany, Italy and Russia will be represented. All members of the University are invited to attend the meeting.
