TWELVE POLEMICS RETAINED ON SQUAD FOR B. U. CONTEST

As a result of three series of try-outs held last week in the New Lecture Hall to determine which speakers will represent the University debating team in its contest with Boston College, 12 men have been selected from a large field of contestants, it was announced last night by E. M. Rowe 1L., debating team coach.

Each candidate was required to make a five minute argument on the subject: "Resolved: That AlSmith is eminently qualified for the presidency."

The following men were retained on the squad and are to report at 4 o'clock in the New Lecture Hall today with five minute speeches on the subject of the debate: M. V. Anastos '30, Mathew Brody '31, M. N. Copeland '29, R. F. Courtney '29, F. W. Lorenzen '28, Brooks Otis '29, A. L. Raffa ocC., Saul Rosenzweig '29, D. E. Scoll '28, J. N. Stensland '28, and J. L. Shea '29.
