Harvard Students To Vote on Divestment From Israel in Inaugural HUA Election Survey
As the result of the recent ballot held at the University Squash Courts, a new system of registration for players on these courts will be inaugurated after the Christmas vacation.
To accommodate men with early classes, it has been decided to allow the reservation of ten of the courts from 5.15 to 5.45 o'clock on the evening previous to the day on which they will be used. The rest will be open to registration at 8.30 o'clock in the morning, as they are at present.
The vote taken showed that 232 men, mostly in the Graduate Schools, wanted all courts to be registered on the night before they were to be used, as opposed to 262 men who wanted the present system retained.
Since the recent innovation allowing play at night until 9.30 o'clock the courts have been used by 951 players in the three weeks that have been open after the former closing hour of 6.30 o'clock. It is thought that by the new system of registration the present average of more than 300 players a night will be greatly increased.
