Students in the University will have an opportunity to compete for four valuable prizes, one of which is worth $500, another $100, and two valued at $25 each. The prizes are awarded in each instance to the author of the best poem that has not been previously published either in a magazine or in book form.
The $500 prize is offered for the best Manuscript Poetry Prize, and anyone who is a citizen of the United States is eligible for the award. A single poem will not be considered for this prize, and the total number of lines of poetry written must not exceed 700. All manuscripts must be sent not later than May 1 to Manuscript Poetry Book Prize, 122 East 76th Street, New York City.
The $100 and $25 prizes are offered to the undergraduate in any college who submits the best poem or group of poems, the number of lines not to exceed 200. These poems must be submitted not later than May 15 to Witter Bynner, 342 Buena Vista Road, Santa Fe, New Mexico.
