Beowulf!", is invalidated by the fact that due to a change in examination plans candidates for Honors in English may now present themselves with or without a knowledge of Anglo-Saxon. The first plan meets the requirements of a "General" course, "directed to the study of English literature", the second, to a "Special Course", directed "primarily to the study of English language and literature."
