The new Freshman Library, which has been added to the group of Freshmen biuldings along the Charles River, is now open, according to an announcement last night by W. C. Lane '81, librarian of the University.
The library, located last year in McKinlock Hall is now located in a small double house at 42 Holyoke street, and will be open daily from 8:30 o'clock in the morning until 10 o'clock at night. The new building, recently purchased by the University, and completely renovated for the purpose, is situated just opposite the Freshman Gymnasium, within easy reach of each of the Freshman dormitories.
The English reading Room occupies the upper floor of the renovated building. This, it is expected, will be opened next week. Containing over 1800 volumes, this room is intended primarily for pleasure reading; corresponding in this manner to the Farnsworth Room in Widener Library. It will contain, however, many of the books which are required reading for English A. and English 28.
