The Senior class football team defeated the Juniors 2 to 0 in a hard-fought and evenly matched game yesterday afternoon, winning the championship and the right to meet the Yale class team at New Haven on November 11. The single score came in the last quarter when a bad pass from center on the 15 yard line was recovered by R.E. Garrity '29 behind his own goal line.
The Sophomore team went to Groton yesterday and left the schoolboys at the short end of a 6 to 0 score. The kicking of C.E. Dunlap '30 was a feature. F.L. Hart '30 was elected captain of the team before the game. He made the only score by a touchdown in the third period.
In the opening quarter of the Senior Junior game, B.B. Long '28 made a 25 yard run on a criss-cross play, and the Seniors marched down to the Juniors 15-yard line. There the offence of the Seniors failed, and the ball was lost.
In the fourth quarter Moses Ellis '28 made a 55 yard punt from his own 15 yard line which rolled to the Juniors 20 yard line. On the next play Chandler Robbins '28 blocked the Junior punt, but the Juniors recovered the ball. A bad pas from center sent the ball back of the Junior recovered the ball back of the Junior goal line, where Garrity recovered, scoring a safety for the Seniors.
