AWARDS TO BRING EUROPEANS HERE

The award of a number of fellowships which will bring European students to the University and send Harvard students abroad has been announced by the Corporation, following a recent meting. The elections of Rhodes Scholars, it was also stated, will be held on December 10. Information concerning the Oxford scholarships may be obtained from 5 University Hall or from Professor W. C. Greene '11, 60 Shepard street, Cambridge.

Among the most interesting awards is that of the Davison Scholarships, which bring six students annually from Oxford and Cambridge. Two of these study at Harvard, two at Yale, and two at Princeton. The two English students at Harvard this year are W. F. P. Chadwick, from Wadham College, Oxford; and K. R. H. Johnston, from Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge.

Another scholarship bringing an Englishman to Harvard is the Joseph H. Choate Fellowship, awarded to W. H. B. Court, of Downing College, who is to study in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.

From the Henry Russel Shaw Fund a stipend of $1000 has been awarded to M. C. Stevens '27 for the purpose of "supplementing his formal education by the broadening and cultivating influences which come from acquantance with other countries."

Other smaller scholarships were announced by the Corporation at the same time. The Caspar Henry Burton, Jr., scholarship, of $350, was awarded to W. M. V. Hoffman, Jr., of New York City. Hoffman received a War Degree from the University in 1920, and has attended the Law School for three years. He will now enroll in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.

The Virginia Barret Gibbs Scholarship has been awarded to T. W. Torrey, of Glenwood Springs, Colorado, a graduate of the University of Denver, who will study Zoology in the Graduate School.

A University scholarship of $300 has been granted to J. G. Reed of Wollaston, Massachusetts, a Bowdoin graduate, to enable him to study in the Graduate study Zoology in the Graduate School. School of Arts and Sciences.

One half of the Anna C. Ames Scholarship in the Bussey Institute has been awarded to J. W. Wilson, of Villa Rica, Georgia. Wilson received the degree of S.B. at Clemson College in 1924, and that of S.M. at North Carolina State College in 1926. He has already studied for one year at the Bussey Institute
