At 5 o'clock this afternoon in the Freshman Athletic Building the Freshman basketball quintet will clash with Cushing Academy in their second game this season. Tomorrow evening the University squad will meet Clark University.
Owing to the recent illness of D. W. LaRue '30, star guard of the 1930 squad, it is intended to start G. L. Lewis '30 in the position of right guard, although it is possible that LaRue may be able to get into the game. A. B. Bigelow '30 will start at left guard, D. L. Waterman '30 at center, J. H. Ward '30 at right forward, and H. F. Wenner '30, at left forward.
M. I. T. Easy Victim
This afternoon's starting lineup, except for the absence of LaRue, is the same that faced the M. I. T. Freshmen last Saturday. In that encounter the Crimson was victorious by a score of 52 to 9. The game was marked by vigorous playing by the Harvard team, against which the M. I. T. Freshmen were powerless. LeRue particularly distinguished himself, both in individual action and team-play.
Cushing Academy has been a favorite game on the Freshman schedule for some years. Last year the 1929 team vanquished the Academy by 38 to 25, in an exciting although not particularly dangerous encounter for the Harvard team.
Tomorrow evening the University five will face Clark University on the home floor. Although the Clark contest was originally scheduled for today. It was postponed on acount of the wrestling meet with Columbia in the Hemenway Gymnasium this evening.
It is very improbable that M. M. Green '28, star center of the University quintet, will have recovered sufficiently from his sprained ankle to start in tomorow's game. The line-up, although it has not yet been officially announced, will probably be the same as for the M. I. T. game last Saturday, with Barbee taking Green's place at center, Coombs and Malish playing guards, and Leekley and Dorn in the forward positions.
