P.B.H. GIVES RECEPTION FOR FIRST YEAR LAW MEN

Lowell, Pound, Frankfurter, Are Among Speakers--Will Explain Method and Aims of Law School

A reception to first year law students will be given next Monday night by the Phillips Brooks House Association at 7.30 o'clock. While the meeting is intended primarily for the welcoming of the first year men, all other members of the Law School are invited. The reception is given under the auspices of the Law School Society of the Phillips Brooks House.

Lowell to Speak

The Law School entrants will be addressed on several topics germane to the work which they will undertake while at Cambridge. The organization of the Law School will be explained to them as well as such extra curricular activities as the Harvard Law Review.

President Lowell will open the reception with a speech of welcome to the future attorneys, in which he will expound the aims of the Law School course. He will be succeeded by Roscoe Pound Hon. '20, Dean of the Law School. Dean Pound will examine the organization of the Law School and lay open in some detail its intimate operation.

Friendly Takes Up Law Review

Professor Felix Frankfurter '06 will be the next speaker. He will deal with several aspects of the law course. Professor A. R. Magruder '06 will deal with methods of study in acquiring knowledge of the law. Henry Friendly, 3L, president of the Harvard Law Review, will speak on that periodical, which offers great stimulation and interest in the realm of extra curricular activities. Brooks Potter 3L will address the meeting on the Legal Aid Bureau, after which Livingstone Hall 3L will explain the work of the Law Clubs under the Board of Advisers.

Refreshments will be served following the speeches.
