PRINCETON FIVE PLACED ON BASKETBALL PROGRAM

NORTH CAROLINA QUINTET NOT TO PLAY IN CAMBRIDGE

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The University basketball team will play Princeton for the first time in four years next winter according to the complete 1927 basketball schedule announced last night by Manager S. M. Bysshe '27. A number of other new teams have been added to the list of Crimson opponents also.

The revival of basketball in 1921 found both Princeton and Yale on the schedule and for two years the big three court series was continued until the H. A. A. abolished the New Jersey trip in accordance with its announced policy of curtailing minor sport schedules.

Will Complete Schedule

As the lacrosse, wrestling, tennis, goll and fencing teams all have games with the Orange and Black on their schedules it was decided this year to resume the court contests with the Princetonians and it is expected that the custom will be continued in the future.

Other new teams on the schedule are Maine, Vermont and Clark. In accordance with a policy of meeting chiefly New England teams, most of the games will be with local quintets. B. U. starts the schedule on December 17, and the next game is with Tech on the Engineers' floor on January 8, after the Christmas vacation. Holy Cross, Worcester Polytechnic and Springfield are other local fives which will journey to Cambridge next fall.

Carolina Will Not Come North

The game with North Carolina, which has been a feature of the Harvard schedule for the past two years, has been omitted for next season. The Carolinians have held the Southern Championship for the past four years but have lost both of their games with Harvard by close scores. They are not making the northern trip this winter.

The complete schedule follows: December 17, Boston University; January 8, M. I. T. there; 12, Clark; 19, Worcester Polytechnic; 22, Connecticut Aggles; February 5, Williams; 9, Holy Cross; 12, Dartmouth there; 16, Brown there; 19, Princeton there; 23, Vermont; 26, Maine; March 2, Springfield; 5, Yale.
