Man Who Managed Clients for High-End Cambridge Brothel Network Pleads Guilty
Records were smashed right and left when the Massachusetts High School Athletic Association held its sixth annual track meet in the Stadium last Saturday afternoon. In the class A division four marks were shattered and the title fell to Brockton for the second time in two years.
Arlington High, a newcomer in the Class B ranks, finished first while six records were being battered in this group. The record breaking activities were carried on despite the cold cross wind which swept Soldiers Field during the entire meet. Brockton captured the class A taxi with a total of 24 points, seven points ahead of Dorchester, the dark horse of the meeting. The winner of the class B division scored 22 points, closely followed by Fairhaven High with a total of 19 1-2. Quincy, last year's winner in the junior class, landed in fourth position with 12 points just on the heels of the third place Haverhill squad.
Century Mark Falls
The first mark to fall was the 100 yard class A record of 10 2-5 seconds. Trull of Lowell clipped a fifth of a second from this time in a close finish. In the quarter mile of the senior division which followed shortly after, Smith of Brookline, turned in a mark of 51 seconds flat bettering the old record by a fifth of a second also. Dorchester broke the half mile relay record largely due to the work of Yavner and Korb who finished first and second in the 220 yard dash, Tremblay of Lawrence was the fourth record breaker, when he heaved the 12 pound shot 43 feet 2 1-3 inches.
The new marks in the Class B competition did not come up to the newly established records in the upper group. Bab-bit of the Arlington High Champions was clocked in 10 3-5 seconds for a new century record in the first race. The former 440 yard run time was beaten by a full second, when Johnson of Somerville crossed the line in 51 1-5 seconds. The half mile was run by Chapman of Quincy in 2 minutes 3 1-5 seconds for another record, and Salomone of Mechanics Arts lowered the furlong mark when he broke the tape in 23 1-5 seconds. The shot put and the relay marks were the last two to be lowered by the class B athletes.
