Leader Non-Commital About Showing of Eights in Time Rows

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Gales Ferry, Conn., June 11--All four Yale crews had their first time trials on the Thames today. The Freshman, Junior University, and combination crews rowed over the two-mile course this morning, with the university eight pulling the full four miles before sunset.

No times were given out by Coach Leader, who was non-commital over the showing of the Blue oarsmen.

The second crew was handicapped in its trial, as Russell, number 2, has strained a muscle in his back and will be unable to row for a week. Callender, who has been at 4 in the combination crew, is now at 2 in the Second university shell, with Satterthwaite, a former member of the third crew who has been summoned from New Haven, replacing Callender.
