LIBERALS TO HEAR BARNES ON "CAUSES OF THE WORLD WAR"

Harry Elmer Barnes, Professor of Sociology at Smith College, will talk at 1.30 o'clock today at the Liberal Club on the "causes of the World War."

Professor Barnes graduated summa cum laude from Syracuse in 1913, and was at the University in 1916-17 for research work. He has held positions as an instructor and lecturer at Syracause, Columbia; Clark University, Amherst, and is now a professor in Smith College, where he has been for several years.

He is a member of 20 historical and political societies, among which are the Academy of Political Science, and the Institute Internationale de Sociologie.

He is widely known as a writer on the history and development of social order. "History of the Penal Reformatory and Correctional Institutions of New Jersey," and "Sociology and Political History" and two of his best known works in this field.
