23 NOMINEES FOR STUDENT COUNCIL ANNOUNCED TODAY

Rule for Nominating Class Officers by Petition Is Changed--50 Names Will Be Needed Hereafter

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

At the meeting of the Student Council held last night 15 men from the Junior Class and eight among the Sophomores were nominated for election to next year's Student Council. Of these men seven Juniors and three Sophomores will be elected to the new Council on April 2.

The men who have been nominated from the Junior class are as follows:

John Randolph Burke of Milton.

Alexander Johnston Cassatt of Rosemont, Pa.

Clement Duane Coady of West Newton.

Leo Francis Daley of Andover.

Frederick Vanderbilt Field of New York City.

Ernest Francis Gamache of Leominster.

Courtlandt Sherrington Gross of West Newton.

Elisworth Charles Haggerty of Allston.

Joseph Delano Hitch of Denver, Col.

Carl Gustave Ture Lundell of Dorchester.

Alfred Henry Miller of Boston.

Madison Sayles of Belmont.

Alfred Hart Stafford of Newtonville.

Henry Sewall Woodbridge of Brookline.

Cecil Irton Wylde of Boston.

The eight Sophomores nominated are as follows:

Dudley Bell of Waltham.

George Crawford of New York City.

William Barksdale Jones of Vaughan, Miss.

William Ashley Magie of Chicago.

Albert Henry O'Neil of Jamaica Plain.

James Lawrence Pool of New York City.

William Gurdon Saltonstall of Randolph.

Ralph Williams Turner of Worcester.

This is the first year that the Student Council elections will be held in the spring. Heretofore the elections have been in September or October, but the Council felt this year that a gain in efficiency would be brought about. The outgoing Council and the one to be elected this spring will work together for a certain length of time and will hold a joint dinner to which members of the Councils and Chairmen of Committees which have worked under the Council will be invited. The newly elected Council will hold its first meetings some time in April or May.

Double Number of Names Needed

In addition to nominating for next year's Council it was also decided at the meeting last night that the number of names necessary for a petition in nominating all elective class officers except Senior class officers and members of the Student Council has been raised to 50. Up to the present the number of names signed to a petition to nominate a class officer was 25 and to nominate a man for membership in the Student Council 35. The Student Council felt, however, that with only a small number of names necessary for a petition of nomination, too many men known only to a restricted number of their class would be nominated.

All further nominations by petition must be in the hands of J. L. Carroll, Secretary of the 1925-1926 Student Council by Friday at 5 o'clock. Petitions should be brought until that time to Holworthy 5.
