M. I. T. ENTERS BIG REGATTA ON MAY 29--WATTS STROKES FIRST

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The number of crews racing on the Charles in the biggest regatta of the spring was increased to four last night when M.I.T. announced that its crew would be a contestant. This entry makes it certain that the Navy, Cornell, and M.I.T. eights will pull against the University oarsmen on May 29.

The quadrangular regatta promises to outdo in importance the four-cornered struggle last spring, when Pennsylvania, Cornell, and M.I.T. trailed the Crimson.

There was a new development at Newell boathouse yesterday when Watts, last year's Freshman captain, went to the stroke seat in the first boat. Captain Winthrop moved to 6, Hubbard to 4, and Darlington to 2. This radical shift is probably a very temporary one.
