FRENCH SELECTS 1929 OFFICIALS

The 1929 committee chairmen, as announced by A.E. French, President of the Freshman class, are as follows; Red Book Albert Goodwill Churchill, of Cambridge; Jubilee--John Tudor, of Boston: Finance--Winslow Carlton, of New York City; Smoker--Edward William Sexton, of Winchester; Entertainment Charles Mckim Norton, of New York City.

At a recent meeting of the Freshman class officer: It was decided, contrary to the custom of former years, to appoint old; the committee heads and to have the rest of the committees appointed later by the Executive Board. This is to be composed of the five chairmen already listed and the three regular class officers.

A.G. Churchill, who has been picked to bead the Red Book Committee, prepared at Browne and Nichols where he was editor-in-chief of the "Spectator", the school magazine. Before this he went to St. Paul Academy in St. Paul, Minnesota, where he was the editor of the year book. In Harvard he has been on the Freshman football squad, and the wrestling team.

Tudor Was Ice Leader

Winslow Carlton, chairman of the Finance Committee, prepared at Choate. He was chosen manager of the Freshman football team last fall, prayed one of the wing positions on the Hockey team, and was head of the Student Friendship collectors for Standish Hall. In addition to this he was one of the nominees for the position of secretary-treasurer, and has been appointed the only Freshman member of the Union executive committee.

John Tudor head of the Jubilee Committee, prepared at St. Marks's, and since coming to Harvard has been captain of his class hockey team. He was also nominated for president of the class.

E.W. Sexton, leader of the Smoker Committee, was also nominated for president. He went to Exeter where he rowed on the crew, which sport has occupied his attentions since he has been in the University.

K.M. Norton, a nominee for vice-president, prepared at Groton where he captained and stroked the crew. He is also at present one of the most promising candidates for the Freshman eight.
