The University negative debating team successfully upheld the 18th amendment against the University of Pennsylvania speakers in Paine Hall of the Music Building last Saturday night, when it received the unanimous vote of the three judges and a 35 to 11 poll from the members of the audience. D. W. Chapman '27, President of the Debating Council, and F. W. Lorenzen '28 were the members of the victorious Crimson squad.
The affirmative speakers, I. J. Fain '27 and H. W. Rose '29, were delayed in arriving at Williamstown for their debate with the Purple forensic team, and on their return trip to Cambridge by automobile, they met with an accident.
