Class Day plans, including the announcement of the opening of competitions for Class Day ticket designs, and for words for the Baccalaureate Hymn, were made public last night by N. S. Howe '26, chairman of the 1926 Class Day Committee. At a meeting yesterday of the committee, the work for the Class Day exercises was divided up among the members of the body.
The following appointments were announced yesterday: F. P. Kane '26, treasurer H. R. Jones '26, in charge of Senior Spread; W. I. Nichols '26, in charge of the exercises in Sanders Theatre and the Appleton Chapel ceremonies.
Coop to Handle Caps and Gowns
Arrangements have been made again this year by the committee to have the members of the class of 1926 measured by the Harvard Cooperative Society for caps and gowns. The contract for the Class Day costumes has been given to the Cotrell and Leonard Company of Albany, New York, and this is the only firm that will be officially recognized by the committee. The details of ordering and delivering the caps and gowns will be handled for this company by the Cooperative store.
Rules Set for Tickets and Hymn
The following specifications for the ticket and hymn competitions have been set by the committee:
Designs for the tickets are to be made on white paper with black India ink and are to be of a simple figure. The size of the tickets is to be four and one half inches by seven and one half inches, and the designs must bear the following words: Yard tickets; "Harvard Class Day, 1926. Admit one to the Yard, June 22."
Stadium tickets; "Harvard Class Day, 1926. Stadium exercises, 4 P. M., June 22."
Memorial tickets; "Harvard Class Day, 1926. Admit one to Memorial Hall, 8-11 P. M., June 22."
Familiar Tune to Be Used
The words of the hymn should be set to some familiar tune such as "Integer Vitae", "Ten Thousand Times Ten Thousand", or "Jerusalem the Golden". Further information concerning the competitions may be obtained from N. S. Rowe '26 in Grays Hall. The closing date for the competitions has been set for March 37. Free tickets for Class Day will be awarded to the winners.
