MOUNTAINEERING CLUB OFF IN SNOWMOBILES FOR CLIMB

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Announcement was made last night by L. U. Harris '26, President of the Harvard Mountaineering Club, that a dozen members of the club will leave tomorrow on the third expedition in its history, the ultimate goal being the top of Whiteface Mountain in the White Mountain Range.

The trip will take two days, and will include a journey in snowmobiles from the railroad station to the destination. All the equipment used by mountain climbers will be taken along, such as ice axes, ropes and crimpons.

Last year at this time a similar expedition to Mt. Chicorua was staged, and two years ago three members of the club climbed an unnamed peak in the Columbia ice fields of the Canadian Rockies. It is proposed to name the peak Mt. Harvard.
