SCANT HALF POINT LOSES FIRST LEAGUE POLO GAME

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The University trio dropped its first match in the indoor polo league when the 101st Artillery mallet men nosed out the Crimson riders by a scant half point in the Commonwealth Armory on Saturday night, 8 to 7 1-2. A foul called on Captain R. A. Pinkerton '27 was responsible for the loss of the half point.

The two teams were evenly matched and both played a fast and aggressive game with the army riders displaying a slightly superior brand of combination play. Needham, the brilliant artillery number two, was the outstanding player of the contest with five goals to his credit. Pitman and Pinkerton the rival backs both played strong defensive games which held the score low. The army back prevented many of the Crimson shots from counting and broke into the scoring column with one hard drive.
