COOPERATIVE SELLING LARGE NUMBER OF TOYS TO STUDENTS

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The toy department of the Harvard Cooperative Society, which was instituted last year and did a rushing business, shows a material increase in its sales this year over last year, according to G. E. Cole, the manager. Furthermore Mr. Cole says a very large percentage of the business in this department is student trade.

Coupled with this is an unusually large increase in the sale of books, both textbooks and general literature, and a general increase of 15 per cent in all departments over sales for the same period last year. Memberships have also gone far ahead, the number of members to date this year exceeding the total number for last year.

The Cooperative will close for three days after Christmas, in order that an inventory may be taken. Until Christmas the closing time will be nine o'clock in the evening.
