After three months of preliminary debates in the Ames competition for second year Harvard Law School. Clubs, eight clubs survive who will clash in the semi-final round during the second week of February. These debates take the form of actual trials and serve to give the men practical experience in handling cases.
The first argument will take place February 7 when the Scott Club meets the Chafee Club on the subject of Equity. Professor Beale will be Chief Justice.
The next evening, February 8, the Holmes Club and the Sanford Club will have an Evidence Case, as the subject of their argument. Professor Magruder will preside as Chief Justice.
The third argument will also be an Evidence Case when the Harlan Club and Bryce-Powell Club will meet on February 9, Professor Morgan presiding.
The last semi-final argument will feature Quasi Contracts between the Beale Club and the Pound Club on February 10. Professor Landis will be Chief Justice.
The Associate Justices for each of the arguments will be chosen from ominent Boston lawyers.
The four clubs surviving this round will enter the final competition to be held next year.
