The Crimson squash team continued on its way to retaining the State Inter club Series Title again this year, when it defeated the Cambridge Squash Racquets Club team, winning three out of the four matches yesterday, although one match still remains to be played today. The Harvard team is now in the lead of the State Inter club race, having lost two of its nine individual matches, and having won its first two team matches.
In the first match played E. D. Pratt '27 was defeated by J. D. DuBois 3L, of the Cambridge Club team, 15-10, 12-15, 15-11., 9-15, 15-9. In yesterday's matches all three of Harvard's men won, Capt; H. N. Rawlins '27 defeating T. E. Jansen 11, 15-11, 8-15, 15-5, 15-8, P. M. Len hart '27 downing Capt. E. M. Upjohn of the Cambridge Club, 18-17, 15-10, 7-15, 9-15, 15-9, and H. B. Jackson '27 conquering G. B. Perkins, 15-8, 15-14, 15-9.
The remaining match could not be arranged and will be played today between J. L. Pool '28 and F. J. Carpenter '24. However, the outcome will be a Harvard victory which ever man wins, for the Crimson has already won three of the five matches.
The Harvard victory was won in spite of the fact that R. L. Debevoise '29, brother of last year's University Captain, was missing from the lineup. Debevoise had previously played No. 4 on the team, but was temporarily out of the match with an injury. E. D. Pratt '27 from Team B took the place of J. L. Pool '28 at No. 5, who was moved up into Debevoise's position.
The Freshman squash team was, defeated yesterday afternoon by the Lincoln's Inn team by the score of 3 to 2.
The second University squash team is tied with the Cambridge Squash Club second team, with one game to be played today.
