QUINTET FACES B. U. IN OPENING GAME

Coach Wachter Anounces Intention of Using All His Reserves--B. U. Has Already Played Two Games

At 8 o'clock tonight the University basketball season will get under way when the untried Harvard quartet faces Boston University in the Hemenway Gymnasium.

Coach Wachter, in announcing the Crimson line-up, said that he hopes to use of all of his men in tonight's contest. He named Coombs and Lane as his leading substitutes at guard and center. Allison Slocum, star forward of his Freshman team two years ago, will also be available.

The potential strength of the Harvard outfit is unknown. They have had two games with a powerful makeshift quintet consisting of the former University Captain A. W. Samborski, W. T. Smith '25, another Crimson Captain, Cleaves, a member of the Princeton championship team three years ago, and Drohan, Freshman coach two years ago. The University won both these games by scores of 31-30 and 52-43.

Terriers Win and Lose

Tonight Boston University will be competing in its third game of the season. Last Saturday the Terriers lost a close battle to Brown, and Wednesday night nosed out Providence, 30-28.

Coach Wachter, in discussing the strength of his team, mentioned the lack of available material in the class of 1929. The loss of S. C. Burns and Benjamin Thackenbury because of ineligibility has been a blow.

The management wishes to stress the fact that H. A. A. books will be valid at all basketball games held in Hemenway gymnasium this winter.
