Yale will send no team to the B. A. A. mid-winter track meet this year. H. F. Woodcock, Yale athletic director, announced yesterday. This means that the Harvard-Yale relay race will have to be called off.
Woodcock said that the demolition of the indoor track that has served to train Yale athletes in the past made it impossible to develop a representative team for the B. A. A. games.
In view of the situation another college must replace Yale, and it is probable that the University of Pennsylvania will be asked to enter a two mile relay team for this purpose. As there will be a subsequent triangular meet for Harvard with Dartmouth and Cornell, it is improbable that either of these teams will run against Harvard at the B. A. A. games.
