The election of John Newton Barbee Jr. of Chicago, Illinois, to the presidency of the Junior class was decided by the margin of 46 points. The preferential voting system was used for the election.

Barbee is an athlete of ability in three sports. He has won letters in baseball and basketball and was a member of the Junior class football team that defeated Yale this fall. He prepared for Harvard at Carl Schurz High school in Chicago. During his Freshman year, he was on the 1928 basketball team, the Finance Committee, and the baseball squad.

Chase Wins Decisively

John Peirce Chase of Milton was voted Vice-President by a decisive number of points over his nearest rival, Moses Williams Jr. Chase entered the University from Exeter. He was center on last year's championship University team and also played on his Freshman ice squad. Last year he won a letter in baseball as a substitute infielder. In his Freshman year, he was on the hockey team, the baseball squad, the Jubilee Committee, and was a dormitory football manager.

William Ashley Magie, 2nd, of Chicago, Illinois, was elected Secretary-Treasurer. Magie will be the University Football manager next fall and at present holds the first assistant position. He prepared for college at Exeter. During his Freshman year, he was track manager, dormitory football manager, and a member of the Red Book and Entertainment Committees.
