HORWEEN SAYS HE WILL BE BACK TO COACH NEXT YEAR

Coach Horween will be back in charge of the University eleven next year. He made this announcement last night before an enthusiastic crowd that packed the Living Room of the Union.

On November 3, the Athletic Association offered to Horween a contract extending over a term of several years. Coming before the end of Horween's first year of coaching, it was taken as a signal recognition of his accomplishment, and as a token of confidence. Nothing was said at the time concerning actual terms of the contract, and Horween refused to make any statement on the subject.

With the starting line-up for the Yale game still in doubt, the undergraduates looked to the platform of the Living Room for their answer, as it had been advertised that the men who would start the encounter would be present at the rally. But the answer is still as uncertain as ever, because 19 men sat behind cheerleaders E. C. Haggerty '27 and A. H. O'Neil '28.

Meadows, Putnam, Saltonstall and Strong are the four wingmen from whom the starting end pair will be chosen; while Coady, Lindner and Pratt are the possibilities for tackles; and Kilgour, Simonds, and Stewart for guards. Gamache was the only pivot man on the platform last night.

Eight Backs in Running

The four ball-carriers who will line up against the Blue in the Bowl on Saturday will be chosen from the eight who completed the list of first-team players at the Union last night. These eight were Putnam, Stafford, Chauncey, Clark, French, Guarnaccia, Miller and Sayles.

When cheer leader E. C. Haggerty '27 mounted the platform to open the rally, 1000 students thronged the room. Mike Denihan was the first speaker, waving his famous pennant, and was followed by L. F. Daley '27, President of the Student Council, Coach Horween, C. D. Coady '27, captain of the team, and Coaches Brader and Carney.

At 3.45 o'clock this afternoon the University Band will start from in front of Widener to lead a parade to the field to witness the last practice of the year included in the band's list of songs is a new piece. "Harvard Triumphant", by J. H. Densmore '04.
