AS ELI BATTLE NEARS TEAM STILL UNPICKED

Still undecided about his Saturday's starting line-up, Coach Horween continued an experimental policy in yesterday's practice at Soldiers Field. In the dummy scrimmage that occupied the greater part of the afternoon session, the coach shifted his eleven about, using men in several positions, and filling each place with new material. After the potentialities shown by the substitutes in last week's till with Brown, the Harvard mentor is putting the entire squad through a final test and giving each man, by plenty of work in different positions, an opportunity to demonstrate his full ability.

Garmaccia's side has healed sufficiently to allow him to play and to insure his seeing action on Saturday.

With his deadly flat aerial thrusts and his speedy end-running, he ought to add considerably to the versality of the Crimson attack in the battle against the Blue.

The University coach announced that he will tonight probably be able to name the eleven men who will wear the Crimson jerseys when the two teams line up for the kick-off in the Yale Bowl.

Ineligibles Put on Blue Plays

After the usual warming-up work yesterday afternoon the combination of coaches and ineligibles that has been working with the first team all season was brought in, and unhooked a series of Yale offensive plays against the Crimson defense. Substitutions in the first eleven were frequent, and nearly every man on the squad had his chance to stop an Eli rush.

Burns, an ineligible Junior, was at left end on the "Yale" combination, with Bigelow, a recruit from the second squad, at the other wing, Miaot and Fordyee played the tackles, while Charles Bradforl, a member of last year's eleven, and Donovan, class team coach, filled in at the coards, and Turner, last year's coater, was at the pivot position, Crawiord, Crosby, Baldwin and Mayo worked behind the forward line.

At 3 o'clock Friday the University Seconds will meet the Yale Seconds at New Haven. With a moderately successful season behind them. Coach Know's men are out to down the Elia in their one really big game of the season. The squad will leave Boston Friday morning, and go direct to the field when it arrives in New Haven. After the game the players will celebrate at a banquet, before disbanding for the season.
