At an open meeting to be held at the Union at 8 o'clock this evening, the Circolo Italiano of the University will begin its activities for the year. Special invitations have been sent to a few men to be guests of the Circolo, but all students in the University who are interested in Italy, her language and culture are welcome.
F. Q. Brown '27, President of the Circolo, will occupy the chair, and will outline the past activities of the Circolo, and speak of the plans for the coming year. Professor C. K. Grandgent '83, Professor G. B. Weston '97, and the Marquis Ferranto di Ruffano, Royal Italian Consul at Boston will deliver brief addresses on Italy and the work of the Circolo.
At the end of the current academic year a scholarship involving a trip to Italy and a year's study in an Italian university will be offered by the Circolo, which is the first American undergraduate society of its kind to offer a scholarship of its own.
