The Freshman football eleven will meet its first test of the season this afternoon when it journeys to Andover to face the blue jerseyed Academy players. Practically nothing is known of the strength of either team, since this is the season's opener for both. Andover can usually be counted on to put a strong combination in the field, which, aided by an extra week of practice, ought to furnish a severe proof of the Freshmen's power. Last year's game which was also played at the beginning of the season resulted in a 0 to 0 tie, the game being marred by bad weather conditions and the inexperience of the 1929 outfit.
1930 Loses to University 19 to 0
This year's first year men saw action against the University team A on Wednesday. Although downed 19 to 0 the showed signs of great future strength. A. L. Devens at fullback and D. I. Waterman, a tackle, stood out especially in their defensive play, for the 1930 eleven, and are expected to shine in today's encounter. Thirty-five men have been picked to make the trip to Andover.
