CRACKSMEN RIFLE SAFE IN BROCK BROTHERS' EMPORIUM

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Between the hours of 9 and 10 o'clock Thursday night, burglars entered the Brock Brothers' hardware store on Massachusetts Avenue and rifled the safe in the manager's office. Valuable securities and the receipts for the latter part of the afternoon were taken, but the full extent of the loss has not yet been computed. At a late hour last night, detectives were still investigating the theft but had made no arrests.

The night watchman of the Brock Building first discovered the loss when he made a careful examination of the store after his suspicions had been aroused by men lurking near an automobile behind the building. If he had not shouted at them, the culprits would perhaps have been captured on the spot.
