COMMERCIAL BUILDINGS SPRING UP ON GOLD COAST

TWO STORY HOUSE RISES OPPOSITE RUSSELL ANNEX

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Still further has commercialism invaded the Gold Coast with the two building operations that are to be carried on this fall. One has already been started at the corner of Dunster and Mt. Auburn Streets, and work on the other which is to occupy the central part of the block across Bow Street from Russell Annex and Westmorley. The first of these two buildings of which the cellar is already excavated, will be one story in height, and will have a reincarnation of the "Splendid Restaurant," recently situated on Harvard Square.

The second building will be erected in the heart of the dormitory district. It will have two stories of brick construction, with five stores on the ground floor and offices above. Two of the stores have been taken by the owners of the Sandwich Inn, who plan to install another restaurant on the Gold Coast.

Work will begin on both structures in the near future. The ground will be broken well before the advent of snow, and both buildings should be ready for occupancy by spring.
