BASEBALL NINE MAY EMBARK FOR ANTIPODES NEXT SPRING

The University baseball team may make a pilgrimage to Japan next summer, according to a rumor which has been current about the University. Invitations have been received from the leading Nipponese nines for a Harvard tour of the Flowery Kingdom.

Although the prospect is very enticing, the likelihood of a baseball season spent in Japan will depend in great part upon the record made by the University team next spring.

The University of Chicago and other American colleges have taken advantage of the Japanese invitations in the past and have made successful trips to contend with the almond eyed diamond men. Waseda University of Tokyo has reciprocated by sponsoring several Japanese teams on American tours. The Orientals have soundly trounced the strongest college nines in this country.
