POLO SQUAD PROGRESSES UNDER EYE OF NEW COACH

Major Wogan Succeeds Captain Clark as Mentor--Plans to Balance Off Two Equal Teams

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

A flying start has characterized the University polo team in its early season work, according to a report received last night from Major J. B. Wogan, polo coach, succeeding Captain S. F. Clark.

R. A. Pinkerton '27, H. A. White '28, Alexander Shaw '28, R. B. Burnett '28, T. B. Glynn '28, James Simpson Jr. '29, R. P. Gibb '29, and J. P. Cotter '29 are the members of the squad that has been conditioning the ponies and practising stick work at Shaw's field in Newton since the start of the college year. The first scrimmage was held yesterday, and hereafter there will be one each week.

Plans Two Equal Teams

Major Wogan stated that he plans to build up two teams of almost equal skill, training enough god substitutes to avoid the situation of last year, when one man's inability to play put the University out of the running for the intercollegiate title.

Late in November, the team will begin to practise in the Armory, training for the city tournament which starts early in January. Still later in the year, the University team will play the fours from Yale, Norwich, Providence, and West Point in an indoor polo series.
