The Freshman football team will face the Holy Cross Freshman eleven this afternoon at 2 o'clock on Soldiers Field With the exception of Devens, former Groton School star, who will be unable to take his place in the backfield due to an injury, Coach E. L. Casey '19 will have his strongest line-up on the field from the opening whistle.
The Holy Cross first-year men are reputed to have a strong team, but the Crimson-clad aggregation has improved steadily, and has attained to a machine-like co-ordination in both attack and defense that bespeaks great possibilities. Last week, in handing a 22 to 0 defeat to Worcester Academy, the Freshmen were not obliged to kick once, so perfect was their throttling of the schoolboy attack.
