In what promises to be one of the fastest and hardest fought cross country meets of the season, the University harriers will match strides with M. I. T. at 4 o'clock this afternoon on the Charles river course.

The Technology runners overwhelmed Holy Cross last week 15 to 50, four of them finishing in a dead heat for first place. Harvard won its meet from the Crusaders 21 to 34. These comparative scores presage a bitter struggle today throughout the five mile run.

The Freshman runners will encounter the Engineer first year team preliminary to the main event. The 1930 runners are expected to defeat M. I. T. with expected ease as a result of their one-sided triumph against Dartmouth last week.

Haggerty Returns to Line-Up

The starting line-up for the Crimson runners will probably be: Captain E. C. Haggerty '27, E. B. Boyce '27, Leslie Flaksman '29, Edward Gordon '27, W. B. King '27, H. M. Kullman '27, L. J. Novograd '27, J. W. Reid '29, G. L. Sitlebbins '28, and A. S. Woodworth '29.

The University harriers, undefeated so far this season, will be strengthened today by the return of Captain Haggerty, who was kept out of the Dartmouth meet on October 22 by an injured foot. The winner of today's clash will be recognized as the leading contender for the intercollegiate cross country title.

Captain W. G. Dooley '30 of the Freshman team is expected to turn in a fast performance for the three mile course today as a result of his record-breaking run last week.
